WOW!!!!!
A grueling walk to the so-called Wild Wall, or should we called it “Almost impossible Wall”. Around 1 hour of climbing a very rugged track… but it was worth every drop of sweat, every scratch, every tumble.
The Great Wall of China is the biggest human construction in the entire world. It took over 10 years to construct the last part of the Wall and involved an amount of human resources that only China could have mobilised.
Like many other walls that mankind built during our history, it failed to perform its ultimate goal and China suffered invasion after invasion under the “protection” of the wall. My hero Genghis Khan cut through the Wall like a hot knife through butter.
However, since humans never learn from history we continue talking about building Walls. Please, Mr. Trump, come and have a look at this monumental Wall and stop the idea of wasting lots of money and effort on another failure.
Time, the elements and people caused a lot of damage to the Great Wall. Some parts have been rebuilt for the benefit of tourism and we are going to see them tomorrow. Others almost disappeared like to one we visited today and are now called The Wild Wall.
I will have some details about the Wall in my next sections. Hope you enjoyed the photos but believe me no photos, films or books will prepare you for the experience we just had. Thanks Karin for organising all the logistics and accompanied us on this memorable walk.
