At breakfast, Karin asked us if we were ready for another bushwalk. I asked how hard it would be compared to the previous day. She said: “Not very hard. We have a little hill to climb, then a flat section and after that, we would enter a beautiful valley where we would visit a village of an old friend.”
Used to ask for directions in my days of hunting in Mavinga, I took the information with caution, but I found out the Karin is a bit worse than the Ganguela trackers in terms of directions…ahahahah!!!!!
The walk was longer than the day before with some ups and downs. The track was much better and the ups and downs were not as steep. Actually far more gentle than the Wild Wall track.
Jokes apart, the walk was very pleasant with the track meandering through a dense forest of chestnut trees and a creek running along, enchanting us with the wonderful sounds of water running through little rapids.
Alfy and Filomena chatted all the way about the plants along the track and… Alfie lost the turn to our One Man Village!!!. We had to backtrack but finally, we arrived.
One Man Village or Beiweitan is the home of Mr. Ma Yufa, its only inhabitant. Mr. Ma Yufa, a happy 70 something old man, with a constant smile on his face did not stop offering us things: chestnuts, peaches, coriander.
Enjoy the photos.
