From Couta Rocks we drove up to Arthur River and slept on an up-market motel as good as the accommodation I used to have on the mine sites. For the rest of the family it was a shock…I was used to and felt at home. The rooms were containers but they were clean.

Next day we drove to Marrawah for breakfast but no one serves breakfast in Marrawah and we continue to Smithton were we met our friend Bradley again. Then we headed to Stanley were we spend the rest of the day exploring the town and the famous Nut.

At the end of the day we left for Sisters Beach were our friends Roz and Bob Heal were waiting at their beach house.

Sisters Beach in the middle of the Northwest coast is where our friends Roz and Bob have their cosy beach house. Roz and Bob are our friends from the Burnie days and knowing Roz we were not surprised with the aqua theme of her beach house.

As far as Roz is concerned the world is aqua and the rest is graffiti. We spent two days at Sisters enjoying the beach and mainly the creek in front of the house. At the end of the day we did long walks on the beach and were captivated with the sunsets and the rock formations.

We used the opportunity to visit places that were dear to us such as Boat Harbour, Wynyard, table Cape and Burnie on the way out to Cradle Mountain.

On route to Cradle Mountain we drove past Burnie and visited some important places that had a marked impact on our lives: Our house, obviously and the girls school.

We stopped at the lookout at the back of the Sports Centre and looked over Burnie, a much changed scenary from when we live there. The Paper Mill has disapeared ending an importante chapter on Burnie life.

The closure of the industry (Paper Mill, Tioxide, West Coast Mines) caused Burnie to be downrated to town rather than a vibrant city when we live there.
