The statue of Marco Polo . Marco Polo his father and uncle travelled to China and in 1266. They reached the seat of Kublai Khan the Mongol ruler and founder of the Yuan dynasty in Dadu, now Beijing. Marco Polo is supposed to have stayed with Mongols in China for over 24 years.
