The famous Maracanã stadium, the biggest football (soccer) stadium in the world. Initially it had the capacity for nearly 200,000 spectators, but now has been reduced to half. The final of the Carioca Cup (state of Rio de Janeiro competition) between Flamengo and Botafogo was the day we arrived in Rio and not only the 100,000 people in the stadium were on fire but the entire city. One could follow the game without seeing it has at any goal the entire city erupted with fire works and shouts from all the bars e places with TV’s
