The way the professionals dive in Tasmania is using what they call a Hookah; an air compressor connected to two long hoses. This way you can dive for longer without the problem of carrying tanks and having to refill them. David’s compressor was giving him some grief that day and we dived always worrying about it failing. In Tasmania you dive normally through “jungles” of bull kelp with stems the thickness of a man’s arm. Once inside of the “jungle” you have to retrace your way out or you will be badly and hopelessly entangled.
