The Government Palace is located in the Chinggis Square and it houses various state organs such as the legislative State Great Khural, offices of president, prime minister and members of State Great Khural.
The building was rebuilt in 2005/2006 and the monuments to Genghis Khan, Ögedei Khan, and Kublai Khan, completed in 2006 in time for the 800-year anniversary of Genghis Khan's coronation. The statue of Genghis Khan is guarded with two of his generals Mugali and Bo'orchu.
