Unfortunately Port Arthur is also famous for a massacre. On 28th April 1996 a lunatic killed 35 people and wounded 21 in this place here, which used to be a small restaurant. The place was demolished and a very simple memorial erected in its place. It can be see in the background: a cross with the names of the people killed on that day. What get me is that I, along with all the people in Australia are paying to keep such a monster alive.
